Facility Description

It is the Kyoto terminal of the Keihan Electric Railway and the gateway to Rakuhoku. It is a connecting station with the Eizan Electric Railway, and is a base for scenic spots in Rakuhoku such as Yase, Ohara, Kurama, and Kibune, so it is crowded with many tourists on holidays. The Aoi Festival, held in May, is the annual festival of the nearby Shimogamo Shrine, and is known as one of the three major festivals in Kyoto.
