Facility Description

This is Kyoto's busiest shopping district and the closest station to Shijo Kawaramachi. Yasaka Shrine is located to the east of the station, and the Gion Festival, one of Japan's three major festivals, is held every July at this shrine. Also, to the east of Yasaka Shrine is Maruyama Park, said to be the oldest in Kyoto, known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot and always bustling with people. The park is a place of relaxation for local residents throughout the year.
